After a temporary network interruption (of any length starting at 1 or 2 seconds caused by switching from wired to wireless connection), ARIS is unable to recover. I get multiple error messages stating that it is unable to reconnect.
Even logging out of the database and back in again does not resolve the issue. I need to completely close Architect and re open again.
At home, my internet connection is unstable, so regularly drops and reconnects. In the office, I regularly dock and undock my laptop to go to meetings which switches from wired to wireless connections. I need ARIS Architect to withstand this interruption in connectivity and be able to reconnect and continue working once connectivity is reestablished.
At present ARIS does not handle this connectivity interruption gracefully at all.
I am told my the support team that this issue is due to the fact that ARIS watches my IP address to maintain the session however IP address is not a constant. There are other ways of ensuring that my machine
is licenced without relying on the IP address which (as we have found) can
change under several circumstances.
Please enhance ARIS Architect to use a different mechanism for maintaining session which does not rely on a fickle property such as IP Address.
