While designing we see that 'time' is a missing component the ARIS toolset is not really supporting.
Ideally we'd like to model our designs in different Time moments. 2 examples:
1) We are now designing and updating our process models that are practiced out by our employees now, but we are also re-designing our processes for implementations in perhaps 3 months or even 2 years from now.
2) We are designing multiple application designs that have different go live dates. After the design phase it can take a few months before the design is part of a baseline. We are also looking at yearly roadmaps changes of our landscape.
We'd like to see that a 'model' and an 'object' can change over time and that a designer/architect can use a 'slider' to traverse these from past time, to current, to future moments (plural, as with different scenarios) in time. This would require a 'time line' concept to be available that can be divided in past/current/future data range sets that is linked to all methods.
Adding content to the 'current Baseline' is then no longer done via workarounds like moving content to publication databases or versions but seamlessly integrated in a normal way of working.
