There is a strong need for the ability to mass update ARIS content particularly objects, object attributes, and the relationships/connections between objects. Currently, the ARIS Excel Import Template (derived and imported via reports) only addresses the creation of new content. The ability to mass update existing content, such as objects, with attribute and relationship/connection data is imperative, particularly where there are large numbers of objects involved.
Use case example for mass update of connections: I've got a matrix with 200+ objects on the X-axis and 200+ objects on the Y-axis. That represents over potentially 40,000 connection updates to made (boxes to be checked). To do this manually is impractical, particularly when the customer has the information already compiled in spreadsheet form where it can be readily purposed for an update import, if such a capability existed in ARIS. Also, the workaround solution of importing new objects and then consolidating them with exist objects would be far too onerous to carryout.
Additionally, there are far-reaching benefits in having the ability to perform mass updates to object attributes and connections with the Excel-based import template including facilitation large-scale data calls within the organization/enterprise while minimizing the resource impact and bottleneck effective of ingesting the data received into ARIS for BPM/EA use and analysis.
