make the step view behavior configurable

Dear Software AG representative,

we are in the process of implementing ARIS 10 cloud. We have encountered a problem with our local ARIS team (the Netherlands), they asked us to create a feature request as per the correspondence copied below,

best regards,

Asha Chitan

Problem

In the Rabobank EPC modelling it occurs that an XOR operator is followed by two events. The first event (E1) leads to a function (F1) , the second event leads (E2) to and AND operator. The AND operator leads to two parallel functions (F2A) and (F2B)

the steps view shows this modelling as follows in one decision point with three options
-First event (E1) + function (F1)
-Second event (E2) + first parallel function (F2A)
-Second event (E2) + second parallel function (F2B)

We would have expected two decision points

Decision point 1
-First event (E1) + function (F1)
-Second vent (E2)

After selecting second event-> second decision point:
-first parallel function (F2A)
-second parallel function (F2B)

Answer

Dear Richard, in the step view each rectangle corresponds to an activity (in the case of EPC practically to a function). Functions (activities) that depend on events are shown as conditional activities (rectangle that contains a section for the event and another section for the activity). The operators are not shown as rectangles, they are displayed only as hints in the transitions between the selected activity and the next possible activities. Unfortunately (at least in the current and previous versions) this behavior is not configurable. If the customer wants to change (make configurable) the step view behavior, please create a feature request for it.
