optimize smart modelling

Smart modelling (and therefore Satellite modelling) works fine as long as all the connections for symbols on e.g. left side are connected to the the left side of the function.

Smart modelling and Satellite modelling does not work properly any more and overlap symbols when a symbol e.g. on the left hand side of the function has a connection that leads to the top side of the function (not the left).

It would be good if different connection entry points to the function would be considered properly as well.
