In our process mining engine we have an algorithm that determines the fitness value between a reference model and the discovered executed model. This fitness value provides insight in the similarity between two models.
In ARIS Connect we have the model comparison functionality two determine the differences between two models. The idea is to bring this fitness value algorithm to ARIS Connect so we can add it to the model comparison functionality.
One of the use cases for this is the following: imagine you have a global standard process and you have a number of local variants. Using this fitness value algorithm we could determine how similar (or not similar) the variants are compared to the global standard. The organization can then use this information to discuss whether or not a variant should actually be a variant (or that it can be changed so the local organization can work with the global standard).
Even better, if this functionality is used throughout the repository you could store the values in attributes and use these as data feeds for dashboarding.
