Ability for designers to navigate around the model canvas using mouse click and drag

In ARIS Enterprise - Viewer, users are able to navigate around a model diagram by using their mouse to click and drag. Designers would like this function enabled in the designer view of models where they are editing as they find it a pain to move around the map using the scroll bars or resizing functions. Would it be possible to enable the mouse click and drag function for any area of the model canvas that is not occupied by an object (to avoid accidental moving of objects)?
