The standard APG merge service automatically uses 'Entire method'. Analysis has shown that this has significant performance impact compared to using manual merge/user defined script using a specific method filter. Therefore a 'Method filter' parameter should be added to the merge service to define the filter used for merging, falling back to 'Entire method' only if not specified or not available.
