Variant Management: development different variants

Customers are using variant management not only to deploy variants to different countries/business units, but also to develop different variants of an As-is model and decide afterwards which variant should be the new to be process. Meaning customers have an as is model and create different variants of that as is model including different scenarios about how to change the process. The process owner later on gets all different variants presented and has to decide which one of the new models should be the new process.

At the moment there is no technical support for that, as variant creation would need to involve object or object type selection for variant creation. And afterwards "importing" the content of the chosen variant into the current as is model "hull" (GUID important for versioning and being able to do comparisons).
