The ability to search for objects using their default symbol as a filter is required in the repository search in connect. This will allow modellers to find objects differentiated by symbol, e.g. control objects, as these are functions with a different symbol.
Ability to search for objects by symbol types is also needed to run the "change symbol" report in Connect.
As in Architect: Search based on symbol types and run the report 'Change Symbol Type' on the result.
Next to search on models, objects and items, some of our customers expressed the need to search for symbols. I would extend this request to the modelling and viewer spaces, as viewers are not familiar with the symbol and objet concepts.
