Context: In the ARIS Portal search functionality, users can apply various filters, including database selections. Currently, when the user selects the ‘Reset all’ option, it may not reset the database selections. To improve clarity and user experience, the following changes are suggested:
If feasible, the ‘Reset all’ option should reset all filters, including databases.
This ensures that users can completely clear all applied filters, including database selections, with a single action.
This would provide a streamlined and consistent experience, making it intuitive for users to reset all aspects of the search filters, including database settings.
If databases cannot be reset using the ‘Reset all’ option due to technical limitations or design decisions, then consider the following adjustment:
Move the ‘Reset all’ option below the list of databases in the UI, to distinguish it from database settings.
Rename ‘Reset all’ to ‘Reset All Filters’, clearly indicating that it only resets other filters (like categories, attributes, or search parameters) but not the selected databases.
Positioning the reset option below the databases and renaming it will reduce confusion, making it clear to users what will and will not be reset when they click the button.
This ensures that users have full control over their search filters without unintentionally resetting their selected databases.
Summary of Requested Changes:
If possible, update the ‘Reset all’ function to reset databases as well.
If not possible, move the ‘Reset all’ button below the database section and rename it to ‘Reset All Filters’ for clarity.
