Implement Image Pop-up with Zoom Functionality in Models

Context: Currently, in ARIS models, when a user clicks on an embedded image (such as a excel table image, chart, or any visual element), the image does not expand or provide options for zooming in, making it difficult to view the image clearly or read any fine details. This can be particularly challenging for users trying to analyze detailed tables or charts image embedded within models. To enhance usability and improve user experience, we propose the following enhancement:

1. Proposed Feature:

• When any user clicks on an image within a model, the image should pop up in an enlarged view.

• Users should be able to zoom in and zoom out of the image for improved clarity and better readability.

• This feature should apply to any type of image embedded within a model, including but not limited to tables image, charts, and any visual elements.

2. Detailed Functionality:

• Image Pop-up: Upon clicking, the image should open in a modal window (pop-up) that covers the screen or a significant portion of it, without the user being redirected away from the model.

• Zoom Capabilities:

  • Users should be able to zoom in to closely examine details (e.g., text, numbers, intricate connections).

  • Users should also be able to zoom out to return to the default view or see a broader picture.

  • A scrolling feature should be added when the image exceeds the window's size after zooming in, so users can navigate through the full image.

• Close Button: The pop-up should include a close button (typically a simple “X” or “Close” button in the corner) to allow users to easily exit the pop-up view and return to the model.

• Maintain Context: After closing the pop-up, the user should be able to continue interacting with the model from the exact point they left off, without losing their position or applied filters.

3. User Experience Benefits:

• Improved Readability: Users will have the ability to zoom in on images that contain fine details, such as complex diagrams or small text, ensuring they can easily analyze the information.

• Enhanced Clarity: By enabling users to zoom in and out, this feature will provide more clarity, reducing the need for users to download images or open them externally just to view details.

• Streamlined Workflow: Keeping the user within the ARIS platform (instead of requiring external downloads or tools) will ensure a smoother workflow and less disruption when working with models that contain embedded images.

• Increased Usability: This will make ARIS models more accessible and easier to interact with, particularly for users working on smaller screens or with visually dense diagrams.

4. Considerations for Implementation:

• Ensure that the zoom function is intuitive and compatible with both desktop and mobile interfaces.

• Provide keyboard shortcuts for zooming (e.g., "Ctrl + Mouse Scroll" or "Pinch-to-Zoom" on touchscreens) for improved accessibility.

• The feature should support high-resolution images to prevent any loss of quality when zooming in.
